Our Policies
At Nikham Offshore Limitada, we prioritize data protection in line with Mozambique’s current legal framework. While Mozambique does not currently have a comprehensive data protection law, relevant provisions can be found in various legislative instruments, including the Constitution of the Republic of Mozambique, which addresses computerized data and privacy rights. Sector-specific legislation such as the Electronic Transactions Law (Law no. 03/2017, of 9 January 2017) imposes requirements related to e-commerce, and laws within the financial and telecommunications sectors establish obligations concerning data security.
Mozambique has also signalled its commitment to data protection by signing the African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection (‘the AU Convention’) on 26 June 2018, although ratification is pending. Once specific data protection legislation is ratified, Nikham Offshore Limitada will draft a formal policy to ensure compliance and best practices in data management. As part of the global Nikham Energy Group, we not only adhere to local regulations but also uphold data protection laws in all countries where we operate.
We prioritize safeguarding personal data entrusted to us by our employees, customers, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with existing legal frameworks and promoting transparency in our data processing practices. We empower our employees to uphold these standards, reflecting our proactive approach to responsible data management practices in Mozambique
